Research Interests
I study the secretions of marine organisms through proteo-transcriptomic and computational approaches to identify and characterise bioactive and toxic components.
My work currently focuses on molluscs (Neogastropoda) and cnidarians (Alcyonacea – gorgonians), with the intention of characterizing the diversity, evolution, and function of the toxins they produce. The interest in these compounds stems from their adaptive role, as well as their biotechnological potential.
