Curriculum Vitae

Research Interests

My expertise is in marine biotechnology and molecular biology. I am currently studying bioactivity and gene expression in microalgae producing secondary metabolites with pharmaceutical potential within the framework of the EU project PharmaSea (http://www.pharma-sea.eu/). I am responsible for the growth and genotyping of the microalgal species, for the transcriptome and gene expression analyses, and for the chemical preparation of extracts for screening on different assays (Antioxidant, Anticancer, Anti-inflammatory).
I am also interested in gene expression responses to biotic and abiotic stressors in various marine organisms.
