Our mission is to study the functioning of pelagic and benthic systems at organismal, community and ecosystem levels.
Special emphasis is given to organismal biology, physiology, behavior, chemistry and evolutionary processes shaping organism-organism and organism-environment interactions and their implications for preservation of biodiversity. The laboratory includes a research unit [benthic ecology group-theme] strategically located in "Villa Dohrn" on the island of Ischia.
Our expertises cover a wide range of specializations and tools, including taxonomy, ecotoxicology, behavioral neuroscience, ‘in situ' and in laboratory experiments, as well as chemical and molecular techniques.
